#025: Lets pivot “Uber for shop assistants”

So this might be a Deja Vu. A couple of weeks ago I talked to you about an uber for shop assistants. The idea behind it was: get somebody to help you if you have questions.
Last weekend, after I spent some time with my cousin who works in a large furniture shop, I came to the conclusion that I was thinking too complicated. Yes, being able to call somebody is very relevant. But very often you just need an interaction. And this, as quickly as possible.

#021: How to make brick & mortar stores more appealing

We live in an on-demand world. Everything we do needs to fit our schedule. This is the main reason why messaging/email became so popular – because we can control when and where we want to reply.
The “Uber for X” model became so popular, there is Uber for pizza, Uber for cleaning, even Uber for bodyguards.
One of the situations I really do need an Uber, I barely find one on the marked: shop assistants!

#002: Point of Sale hand sterilizer

Yesterday my kids and I went to a bakery. It was hot, they were hungry and grumpy. To take control of the situation I bought some fresh bread. I paid with cash while checking emails on my phone. Then I took the change and started distributing the bribe-bread.

It was after I paid that I realized I should have cleaned my hands before handing out something to eat for my kids (god, I hope my wife will not find this post). I fed my children with germs from the change (to be precise a lot of peoples’ germs) AND my phone (which has 10x more bacteria than a toilet seat, studies show).
